About Qash

What is Qash?

Qash is a user-orientated Expense-administration-platform.

What does that mean?

Registered user are able to group in communities. These can be of diefferent types::
- residential communities
- party communities
- clubs
- etc.

Who can use Qash?

The usage of Qash is not limited to any restrictions*. In principle everybody can use this service. Anyhow Qash is designed for residential communities, which want to split their costs to all members of each community.

How did Qash come to life?

The idea to develop a system, that is able to administer expenses came up in August 2006. The problem was of a real praticle nature. The developer met the first time after building up a residential community. Soon the problem occured, that the costs for meals had to be split between all profiteers. The first development of such a system was based on Java. but the funcionality was very strict. It was just possible to enter ones expenses on a computer into a database. This process was very ardouos. From this the idea came to mind to build a local system, which could be used within a browser. The implementation of this system now was made based on PHP for the first time to make multiple access possible.

How did the name Qash develope?

After the frist version of the just nameless Qash had been finished the name-finding-process started. Anyhow, nobody lieks to use a system without the name. At last the people, who have build it. During the name-finding-process Qash was mentioned for the first time. The meaning of this is just "cash". Because "cash" is too boring, "qash" had been choosed.

And how did the whole thing go on?

Because there was not little request to such a system the decision was made to publish Qash on the internet. In a strong phase of creativity there have been added many new features like a recipies database, a task scheduler, eMail-functions or a virtual fridge-door (notebox). By these changes QASh 2.0 was born. In new clothings Qash had his online-debut in January 2007. but the work continued in the background. After a complete concept-change the old system, which had as a centre the community, now became more open. User are now the centre of the system and can be members in different communities. Qash lives through the users, because of this the users went to the new centre of qash.

And now the most important question at last: what is the price?

The usage of qash is absolutly free. The only costs are the costs of other users (they borrowed you some money).
